New Projects and Updates:

Sophie

The project in this old farm house includes renovating a first-floor bedroom and adding a handicap-accessible bathroom, ensuring Sophie has the care and comfort she needs.

The $25,770 project included repairing a sloped bedroom floor and remodel the bathroom. The updates include replacing a large jacuzzi tub with a handicap-accessible shower—a much-needed improvement for this happy 4-year-old.

Kyelynn

Last year, Kyelynn, a 16-year-old with Dravet Syndrome, was accepted into the H2bH family. Dravet Syndrome is a severe form of epilepsy that requires constant supervision due to frequent, prolonged seizures. Kyelynn’s family sought assistance to convert their garage into a bedroom with a handicap-accessible shower.

Our first distribution of $17,554 has been made to convert a garage into a bedroom and bathroom for the 17-year-old in Perkiomenville.

This new first-floor setup is essential due to her seizure condition and will provide both safety and comfort at home.

Kathleen “Katy”

During our recent Designer Purse Bingo event, we were able to distribute $10,000 to begin renovations at Katy’s home in Gilbertsville. The project involves converting a standard shower into a wheelchair-accessible roll-in shower to improve daily life for this 11-year-old girl.

How to Apply for Assistance

When families request a project, the Board makes the decision to have the child join the H2bH family, based on this criteria:

The family owns their own home. They have a chronically ill child that is school age (21st birthday at the end of the school year) or younger. They live in a 25 mile radius of Gilbertsville, PA.

Once voted in to our family, The Board of Happy 2 be Home asks that the family get at least three proposals from bonded and insured contractors, and then the Board votes on which proposal to approve based on the needs of the child. When completed, the grant is given directly to the family.

If you are a contractor, or know of a contractor who wants to submit bids on projects for our families, please contact us.

Once again Stable 12 Brewing Company in Phoenixville, brewed a special craft beer in our honor! We had the release party on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, and we're so happy to have their support.

Hoppy 2 be Home was on its 4th year run! It's a one time brew India Pale Ale (IPA) that was sold only at Stable 12 in 4-packs and the production was limited!

The Beer Tasting Party was awesome. We shared some great food, Hoppy 2 be Home IPAs, and fun. Three lucky people who got in on the raffles won baskets with Stable 12 gift cards, swag, and beer!

Photos With Santa

We kicked off the holiday season with a special event that filled our hearts with joy and captured the magic of the season. It was time to snap some memorable photos with Santa Claus!

Our event let people use their own phone or camera and take a lot of photos. We had professional lighting, back drops, and props.

We had this wonderful picture-taking outing with Santa on November 16th, 2024. There was no charge for the event, but we did make $516 in donations.

PPL Electric Utilities Foundation

At our most recent Board Meeting, we were honored to receive a $835 donation from the PPL Electric Utilities Foundation. This generous gift came through PPL’s Good Catch program, an initiative that encourages employees to promote workplace safety by identifying potential hazards before they result in accidents.

When an employee makes a “good catch,” they’re recognized for their efforts and given the opportunity to select a charity to receive a monetary donation.

We’re incredibly grateful that Greg Scott, a longtime friend of Happy 2 Be Home and a dedicated employee at PPL, chose our organization to benefit from his recognition.

Thank you to Greg and the entire team at PPL for supporting our mission to improve the lives of families with chronically ill children.

We’re grateful to the Mission Committee at First Presbyterian Church in Pottstown for their generous $200 donation to Happy 2 Be Home. 2025 Year-Long Sponsorships Available

In partnership with New Ridge Fellowship, we are asking for your support of the 2025 H2bH 5k Run/Walk on August 9th and the New Ridge Fellowship Car and Bike Show on August 30th.

Since H2bH’s inception, the organization has modified homes for 50+ area families (Over 50 children, we have 4 additional families and projects in various stages of completion) allowing parents to care for their children at home safely rather than alternate housing options like pediatric nursing facilities.

Your support helps to provide a lasting solution for families in great need.
