Welcome to Happy 2 be Home's online update, where we bring you the latest news and events happening in our community. We are thrilled to share our ongoing projects, upcoming fundraisers, and heartwarming success stories. Read on to stay connected with our mission of creating suitable home environments for families with chronically ill children.
We recently welcomed Nisorgo to the Happy 2 be Home family. A site visit was completed to discuss their home modification needs, Nisorgo needs a bathroom remodel and we have one bid in so far, a proposal of $29,000 for his project. The project requires a demolition of the existing bathroom and opening up a wall to allow easy access to the bedroom.
Kevin also needs a bathroom renovation and we currently working on receiving proposals for the project.
Candance, who we helped last year with a bathroom, also needed a wheelchair ramp for outside of the family's home, and that has been installed.
When families request a project, Happy 2 be Home asks that the family get three proposals from bonded and insured contractors, and then the Board votes on which proposal to approve. When completed, the grant is given directly to the family.
If you are a contractor, or know of a contractor who wants to submit bids on projects for our families, please contact us.

We had this really cool go-kart donated to us and didn't know how to use it to help us with our projects.
Thankfully, Pastor Gil at New Hanover UMC said he would include it as part of the church's Annual Mission Auction, which many people attended this year.
The go-kart got auctioned off for $700, and H2BH split the proceeds with the Mission Auctions. This was a win-win deal for two terrific causes!
It was also a win for the person who won the auction, this was a brand new out of the crate go-kart that someone will enjoy for a long time!
