This July of 2025, our friends at California Tortilla celebrated their 30th anniversary by giving back—and they chose Happy 2 be Home as one of their featured causes! All month long, a portion of every Chips & Queso purchase from ANY California Tortilla location went directly toward supporting our mission of helping families create accessible spaces so their children with special needs can remain safely at home.
The Story Behind the Queso
This special fundraiser was inspired by a touching memory from Eric, a longtime CalTort guest, who shared a story about his son, Ethan. Ethan had a heart condition, was nonverbal, and used a wheelchair. On one visit to the Royersford location, Ethan watched his dad eat nachos and smirked. Eric turned on his selfie camera—only to discover his own chin was completely covered in cheese sauce! That silly, unexpected moment sparked one of Ethan’s biggest smiles, a memory Eric still holds close today.
Ethan passed away nearly three years ago, but his joy and vibrant spirit live on. Happy 2 be Home previously helped renovate Ethan’s bedroom so he could stay safely at home, and now, his legacy is helping other families unlock the same comfort and accessibility.
How Our Community Answered the Call
Throughout July 2025, the community rallied together in three incredible ways:

- Spreading Awareness: Friends and families shared Ethan’s beautiful story to shine a light on our mission.
- Direct Impact: Many contributions were made directly through our donation portal.
